Endodontic treatment of lower molar using Easy® Logic mechanized system

The endodontic treatment aims to maintain the tooth in the oral cavity. The success or failure of endodontic therapy depends on factors such as the quality employed in each of its phases, from coronary access to canal filling. Root canal instrumentation can be performed using nickel-titanium alloy files, or nitinol, which have the advantage of resistance to torsion and bending forces if compared to stainless steel files. These materials can be applied more safely in atretic canals, for example. Considering these characteristics, the company EASY® developed a kit consisting of 3 nickel-titanium files, driven by an electric motor, in a rotary movement. Therefore, this study is a case report describing the endodontic treatment of a lower molar using mechanized instrumentation by the Logic 2 EASY® system, performed on a patient at the Dental Clinic of the Univértix University Center, through the stages of clinical examination, coronal access, root instrumentation, obturation and restorative rehabilitation, and with the aid of radiographic examinations. Considering the anatomy and characteristics of the pulp chamber, the properties of nickel-titanium files of flexibility, resistance, and adaptation to curved canals make them a relevant option in endodontic treatment, especially of posterior teeth. The dentist must master the peculiarities of the materials guiding his choice.
